Bastet..the Egyptian Goddess of the home, women's secrets, cats and fertility. Bastet was seen to be the daughter of the sun God Ra and associated with the Eye of Ra. The world has always been polarized between dog people and cat people and each have proclaimed themselves proudly as belonging to either group As a child I had an allergy to cats and naturally became a dog person, but as a full grown adult that has grown out of the allergy my affection is split. I am incredibly fond of felines, and associate myself with the beliefs surrounding Egyptian mythology, the Egyptian Gods and Bastet is definitely one of the most influential deities of the old world.
